Horizon Teachers are working with a welcoming and inclusive Primary School in Havering who are looking to appoint a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team on a long-term basis.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a child in Year 2 with Special Educational Needs, helping them access the curriculum and fully engage in school life.

You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider support team to ensure the pupil receives the tailored support they need to thrive both academically and socially.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, proactive and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.

About the Role as a Teaching Assistant

Providing 1:1 support for a pupil in Year 3 with SEND to support their learning and development.
Supporting the child to remain engaged and focused during lessons.
Assisting the class teacher in adapting learning activities to meet the pupil’s individual needs.
Encouraging positive behaviour, independence and confidence in the classroom.
Supporting the pupil’s emotional and social development throughout the school day.
Working collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other Teaching Assistants to provide consistent support. 
The School is Looking for a Teaching Assistant Who:

Has experience working with children in a Primary School setting.
Has experience supporting children with SEND.
Is patient, caring and committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning.
Is confident supporting learning 1:1 and in small groups.
Has strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
