About this job

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Engineering Assessor with a strong background in Electrical Engineering to support apprentices and learners in achieving their qualifications and developing their professional skills within the engineering industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for an industry professional looking to move into education and training, or for an experienced assessor seeking a new challenge.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage a caseload of Electrical Engineering apprentices and learners.

* Conduct workplace assessments in line with apprenticeship standards and awarding body requirements.

* Monitor learner progress and provide timely feedback and support.

* Develop individual learning plans and set SMART targets.

* Carry out regular reviews involving learners and employers.

* Ensure learners are prepared for End-Point Assessment (EPA).

* Maintain accurate records and assessment documentation using electronic systems.

* Support learners in achieving Functional Skills qualifications where required.

* Promote safeguarding, Prevent, equality, diversity, and inclusion across all activities.

* Build and maintain strong relationships with employers and industry partners.

* Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance procedures and awarding organisation standards.

Essential Requirements

* Level 3 qualification (or above) in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.

* Significant industry experience within Electrical Engineering.

* Assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, D32/D33 or equivalent) or willingness to work towards.

* Understanding of apprenticeship standards and work-based learning.

* Strong communication and organisational skills.

* Ability to motivate and support learners from a range of backgrounds.

* Good IT skills and experience using digital systems.

* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Essential:

* Assessor qualification (A1, CAVA or equivalent)

* Experience assessing apprentices or learners within Electrical Engineering.

* Strong industry background in Electrical Engineering.

* Enhanced DBS
