Make a Difference Every DayA specialist education setting in East London is seeking a warm, experienced and dedicated Paediatric Nurse to join its supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Paediatric Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse who is passionate about supporting children and young people with additional and complex health needs.

Working closely with pupils, families, teaching staff and external healthcare professionals, you will play a key role in ensuring children receive safe, effective and compassionate healthcare within the school environment.

The RoleAs the Paediatric Nurse, you will provide a comprehensive school nursing service and take responsibility for developing, implementing and reviewing individual healthcare plans.

Key responsibilities include:

Providing skilled, effective and evidence-based nursing care to pupils.
Assessing, prioritising and responding to healthcare and emergency needs.
Developing and maintaining individual healthcare and nursing care plans.
Supporting children and young people with complex and additional healthcare needs.
Working collaboratively with teaching staff, parents, NHS professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
Providing healthcare advice, education and training to pupils, parents and school staff.
Monitoring medication, MAR charts, consent forms and medical records.
Monitoring medical reports and ensuring appropriate follow-up.
Supporting safeguarding and child protection procedures.
Coordinating healthcare programmes across the school, including dental and oral health.
Maintaining first aid supplies, emergency kits and individual pupil medication stocks.
Attending relevant multidisciplinary and team meetings.
Maintaining professional competence through CPD, reflective practice and ongoing learning.About YouWe are looking for a compassionate, confident and highly organised nurse who is committed to delivering high-quality care and enjoys working with children and young people.

Essential:

Registered Paediatric Nurse or Learning Disability Nurse.
Current NMC registration.
Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience in paediatrics.
Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience working with children and young people with healthcare needs.
Experience assessing, planning and implementing programmes of care.
Experience writing and reviewing healthcare plans.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development.
Warm, caring, approachable and flexible personality.Desirable:

Experience delivering training to staff, parents or other professionals.
Previous experience working within a school setting.
Experience supporting children with special educational needs.
