Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting on behalf of a Secondary School in Oldham who are seeking an experienced and highly organised School Administrator to join their busy administration team as soon as possible.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced education administrator who understands the pace and demands of working within a secondary school environment and can provide reliable, professional administrative support to staff, pupils, parents and the wider school community.

The Role

As a School Administrator, you will play an important role in the day-to-day running of the school office, ensuring that administrative processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with school procedures.

The successful candidate will be confident working in a busy school environment, able to prioritise competing demands and comfortable communicating with a wide range of people.

Typical responsibilities may include:

Providing efficient administrative support to the school and its staff

Managing general school office enquiries by telephone, email and in person

Maintaining accurate pupil and school records

Updating and managing information on the school's Management Information System (MIS)

Supporting with attendance and pupil administration

Processing documentation and maintaining confidential records

Liaising professionally with pupils, parents, teachers and external agencies

Assisting with admissions, transfers and general pupil information

Supporting school staff with administrative tasks and correspondence

Preparing reports, letters, documents and other school communications

Maintaining accurate databases and spreadsheets

Assisting with school events, meetings and administrative arrangements

Following school policies and procedures, particularly regarding confidentiality and safeguarding

Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the school office

Essential Experience

Please note: applicants will only be considered if they have previous experience working within a school or education setting.

We are specifically looking for candidates who understand the unique requirements of school administration and have experience working with pupils, staff and parents in an educational environment.

Previous experience as a School Administrator, School Secretary, School Office Administrator, Academy Administrator, Education Administrator, Attendance Administrator, Data Administrator or similar would be highly relevant.

Experience using a school Management Information System is also highly desirable, particularly:

Bromcom

SIMS

Arbor

Candidates with strong MIS experience who can demonstrate the ability to quickly learn new school systems are also encouraged to apply.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful School Administrator will be:

Experienced in a school or education environment

Highly organised with excellent attention to detail

Confident using IT and school administration systems

Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information

Professional and approachable when dealing with pupils, parents and staff

Able to work calmly and effectively in a busy school office

A confident communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills

Reliable, proactive and able to use initiative

Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines

Familiar with the procedures and expectations of working within a secondary school
