SEN Teaching Assistant / SEN Support worker – East London

We’re seeking a confident, compassionate SEN TA / SEN Support Worker to join a dynamic East London school. You’ll work closely with students with special educational needs (SEN), providing tailored one-to-one and small-group support to help them engage, progress, and thrive in the classroom.

Key responsibilities:

Support pupils with SEN, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and behavioural needs

Implement behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques to maintain a positive learning environment

Assist teachers in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs

Foster emotional regulation, resilience, and confidence in pupils

Monitor progress and provide feedback to staff and parents

Ideal candidate:

Experienced working with children with SEN partuclarly Autism & Complex Needs

Patient, empathetic, and proactive in supporting diverse needs

Comfortable supporting personal care needs

Strong communication and relationship-building skills

Able to remain calm under pressure and use restorative approaches

Requirements:

Must hold a valid enhanced DBS certificate

Able to provide two professional reference emails
