Prospero Teaching are looking for a reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join primary schools across Swindon. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about supporting their learning, development and confidence within a mainstream classroom.
The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher to provide classroom, one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged and make progress. You may support children across different year groups and abilities, so a flexible and positive approach is important.
Key responsibilities:
Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
Providing one-to-one and small-group learning support
Helping pupils stay focused, engaged and motivated
Supporting literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
Encouraging positive behaviour and good classroom routines
Helping pupils develop confidence and independence
Preparing classroom resources and learning activities
Working effectively with teachers and other support staff
Creating a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
Ideal candidate:
Previous experience working with children is desirable
School or classroom experience is beneficial but not essential
A patient, caring and enthusiastic approach
Confident communicating with children and staff
Reliable, adaptable and able to work as part of a team
Passionate about supporting children's education and development
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not always essential
