Teaching Assistant

Prospero Teaching are looking for a friendly, reliable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join mainstream primary schools across Cirencester. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about working with children and wants to support their learning, confidence and development within a positive classroom environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to provide general classroom, one-to-one and small-group support, helping pupils stay engaged and make progress across the curriculum. You'll play an important role in creating a welcoming and inclusive classroom where children feel supported and encouraged to achieve their potential.

Key responsibilities:

Supporting the class teacher with day-to-day classroom activities
Providing one-to-one and small-group support
Helping pupils with literacy, numeracy and wider curriculum activities
Keeping pupils engaged, focused and motivated
Supporting positive behaviour and classroom routines
Encouraging children's confidence and independence
Preparing learning resources and classroom materials
Working closely with teachers and other school staff
Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

Ideal candidate:

Previous experience working with children is desirable
School or classroom experience is beneficial but not essential
Patient, caring and enthusiastic
Confident communicating with children and staff
Reliable, adaptable and able to work effectively as part of a team
Passionate about supporting children's learning and development
Relevant qualifications are desirable but not always essential
