The school aims to make lunchtime an enjoyable and inclusive part of the day. As a Lunchtime Supervisor, you will support pupils in the dining hall and playground, promote positive behaviour and help children take part in safe and constructive play.

This position offers regular term-time hours and would suit someone who is patient, observant and comfortable taking responsibility for children’s welfare.

Responsibilities

• Encouraging children to take part in inclusive playground activities

• Supporting pupils who may find unstructured times more challenging

• Dealing with minor incidents calmly and seeking assistance when needed

• Administering basic first aid if appropriately trained

• Reporting safeguarding, medical and behavioural concerns

• Helping to leave dining and play areas clean and organised

• Following the school’s health and safety and behaviour policies

Requirements

• A caring, fair and consistent manner

• Good communication skills

• The confidence to supervise groups of children

• The ability to remain calm and respond sensibly to minor incidents

• Previous school or childcare experience is helpful but not essential

• First-aid training would be an advantage

• An enhanced DBS check, or willingness to complete one

What the role offers

• Convenient hours during the middle of the school day

• A welcoming and supportive staff team

• The chance to become part of an active school community

• Practical experience supporting children across the primary age range

• A rewarding role centred on pupils’ wellbeing

• The potential for ongoing, long-term work
