Learning Support Assistant (LSA) Roles - Vale of Glamorgan

Looking for your next LSA role in the Vale of Glamorgan? Academics are currently recruiting Learning Support Assistants to work across a range of primary schools in Barry, Penarth, Rhoose and Cowbridge.

We have a variety of opportunities available, from one-to-one LSA support to general Teaching Assistant (TA) positions.

The Roles

As an LSA working across primary schools, your responsibilities could include:

Providing one-to-one support for pupils with additional learning needs
Supporting pupils within small groups or across the wider classroom
Working alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging learning activities
Helping pupils access the curriculum and develop their confidence and independence
Supporting pupils with their social, emotional and educational development
Assisting with classroom routines and preparation
Supporting positive behaviour and encouraging pupil engagement
Working with pupils with a range of abilities and learning needs
Providing general classroom support as a Teaching Assistant where required
Following individual support plans and school policies
Maintaining a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

We're Looking For

Previous experience working with children, ideally within a primary school
Experience as an LSA, TA, Teaching Assistant or similar role
Experience supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis is desirable
Experience working with ALN/SEN is advantageous
A caring, patient and nurturing approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
Reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic candidates

Requirements

Enhanced DBS
EWC registration
Right to work in the UK
Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
