About the role

This is a hands-on Janitor/Facilities role where you will help keep the site safe, clean, tidy and running smoothly. The role involves a variety of practical duties, including moving furniture and equipment, waste management, litter picking and supporting technicians and tradespeople around the site.

You will also be responsible for the safe movement of stores and waste, following all health and safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

Safely move waste, stores, furniture and equipment around the site.
Carry out waste management, including receiving, sorting, storing and preparing waste for collection.
Drive electric vehicles within designated areas and complete pre-shift safety checks.
Carry out litter picking and help maintain clean and tidy outdoor areas.
Move furniture and equipment when required, including helping set up or rearrange areas.
Replenish welfare facility consumables, ensuring supplies are kept stocked.
Assist technicians and tradespeople with general site tasks when required.
Carry out general building cleaning and help maintain a clean and presentable environment.
Report machinery faults, damaged equipment and any health and safety hazards to the team leader.
Follow all health and safety, quality and site procedures.
Maintain high standards of personal hygiene and infection control.
Complete relevant records and paperwork accurately.
Work as part of a team to ensure the site remains safe, clean and well organised.
Essential Requirements

Full UK driving licence required
Previous experience in a janitorial, facilities, portering, cleaning or similar hands-on role preferred
Good communication and customer care skills
Flexible and adaptable approach to work
Physically able to move furniture, equipment and waste safely
Reliable and responsible
Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
Flexible and adaptable
A good communicator
Customer-focused with good customer care skills
Able to follow health and safety procedures
Happy to get involved in a variety of practical tasks
