School Caretaker - Temporary Cover
Location: Brightlingsea - Own transport is preferred
Salary: £13.50-£14ph + Holiday, Pension and Adecco Benefits
Hours: 8:30am - 2:30pm Monday-Friday
Contract: Temporary - Start date is Wednesday 16th September to 2nd October

We are seeking a reliable, hardworking, and proactive School Janitor to join our client's team on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our pupils, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site.
Ensure the school buildings and grounds are clean, safe, secure, and well-maintained.
Open and lock school premises as required.
Conduct routine health and safety checks.
Monitor and report maintenance issues and hazards.
Assist with setting up rooms, halls, and equipment for school events and activities.
Maintain outdoor areas, including pathways, playgrounds, and landscaped spaces.
Liaise with contractors and support planned maintenance work.
Ensure compliance with school health and safety procedures.What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a janitorial, caretaker, maintenance, or facilities role.
Basic skills in plumbing, decorating, carpentry, or general repairs.
A practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
Good organisational and time management skills.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A friendly and professional manner when interacting with pupils, staff, parents, and visitors.
