Network Implementation Engineer
Pay Rate: £400 - £450 Per Day Inside IR35
Location: London - Various Sites
Contract Length: Initial Six weeks
I am working with one of the world's largest solutions company and have an exciting contract opportunity for an experienced Network Implementation Engineer to support a major programme of network deployments and infrastructure change across multiple London sites.
As this is a hands on implementation role requiring strong Cisco networking expertise you will be involved throughout the deployment lifecycle, from discovery and planning through to configuration, migration, testing and handover.
The successful contractor will need to be comfortable working independently in complex enterprise environments, engaging with technical teams, vendors and customers to deliver network changes successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver greenfield and brownfield network implementations across complex enterprise environments
Configure, test and commission Cisco Catalyst 9K, Cisco Meraki, routing, switching and wireless technologies
Support network discovery, requirements validation, staging, deployment, migration, testing and handover
Implement LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD WAN and internet connectivity solutions
Work across Cisco Meraki, Cisco Catalyst, Cisco Nexus and Aruba Wireless environments
Produce technical documentation including HLDs, LLDs, MOPs, migration plans, rollback plans, test plans and as built documentation
Lead technical activity during deployments, cutovers and complex implementation issues
Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 network environments
Implement IOS, firmware and security upgrades while minimising disruption to live services
Work closely with Architecture, Engineering, Security and Operations teams throughout project delivery
Support network migrations, infrastructure refreshes and technology rollouts
Identify technical risks, vulnerabilities and single points of failure and recommend appropriate improvements
Provide technical guidance to customers around network upgrades, optimisation and new technology
Support change management activity including implementation, validation and post change reviews
Contribute to network monitoring, automation and service improvement initiatives

Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
At least 7 years of hands-on experience designing and implementing enterprise network environments, with strong practical expertise in Cisco Meraki and Cisco Catalyst solutions.
Strong design and implementation experience with:
WLAN technologies, including Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and access points, Aruba WLAN, and Meraki Wireless
Proven experience in deploying and troubleshooting routers, switches, wireless infrastructure, firewalls, SD-WAN, and WAN circuits.

Strong understanding of enterprise networking architecture, high availability, redundancy, and disaster recovery concepts.

Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and vendor coordination skills.
Certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Cisco Meraki Solutions Specialist, PCNSA/PCNSE, Aruba Certified Professional, or equivalent are desirable.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Strong customer-facing and consulting experience.
Ability to operate independently in a global network implementation and project delivery environment.
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise and hybrid-cloud network infrastructures.
