SANZA Teaching Agency is recruiting a Teaching Assistant (SEN) to join a vibrant primary school in Havering. This full-time role involves supporting pupils with Autism and additional needs across the primary age range.
Key Responsibilities
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with Autism
Support communication, learning and social development
Encourage positive peer relationships and independence
Assist pupils with emotional regulation and coping strategies
Adapt support to meet individual sensory and emotional needs
Work closely with teachers and the SEND team
Requirements
Previous experience supporting children with Autism or additional needs
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Positive, proactive and flexible approach
Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staffThe following experience would be advantageous:
Makaton
PECS
BSL
AAC devices or other specialist communication methods
Pay and Progression
Pay ranges from £95 to £105 per day, depending on relevant SEN experience, Autism knowledge and specialist communication skills. Candidates with experience using Makaton, PECS, BSL or AAC systems may be considered for the higher rate of pay.
