Are you a caring, patient and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new opportunity?
Engage Education is currently working with a welcoming and supportive SEN school in North Manchester that is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join their team from October 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and wants to make a positive difference to their learning, development and wellbeing.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs and additional needs.
*
Work alongside the class teacher to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
*
Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
*
Help pupils develop their academic, social and emotional skills.
*
Encourage positive behaviour and promote a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
*
Assist with personal care where required.
*
Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom.
*
Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils.
*
Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
*
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally within an education or care setting.
*
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
*
Is patient, nurturing and empathetic.
*
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
*
Is confident supporting pupils on a one-to-one or small-group basis.
*
Can remain calm and consistent when faced with challenging situations.
*
Is reliable, adaptable and committed to making a difference.
Previous experience working within an SEN setting is desirable but not essential. We welcome applications from candidates with transferable experience from education, childcare, youth work, care or support roles.
