About the role:
We are seeking an experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant to support secondary-aged students with profound and multiple learning difficulties. The role involves working closely with teachers and therapists, assisting with personalised learning activities, managing personal care needs and supporting students during transitions throughout the school day. Experience using hoists and specialist equipment is essential.

Support students with PMLD across a range of learning activities
Assist with personal care, feeding and mobility needs
Use hoists and specialist equipment safely and confidently
Build positive relationships with students and staff
Support communication, engagement and independence
Follow individual education and care plans
Promote safeguarding and student wellbeing at all times
Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
Previous experience supporting students with PMLD
PMLD training and a strong understanding of complex learning needs
Hoist training and experience using moving and handling equipment
Experience working with secondary-aged students
A patient, caring and resilient approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
