Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer – Tonbridge
Location: Tonbridge, Kent
Salary: £16.11 per hour
Hours: 7:00am – 7:00pm
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 3 off or 5 on, 2 off
Overtime: Paid after 48 hours
We are currently recruiting for a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our team at our site in Tonbridge.
We are looking for an experienced engineer with a strong mechanical background. Electrical knowledge and experience would be beneficial, but the primary focus of the role will be mechanical maintenance, fault-finding and repair.
The Role
Working as part of the engineering team, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance to ensure equipment and machinery remain operational and reliable.
Key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out planned preventative and reactive maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
Fault-finding and maintaining machinery and equipment
Responding to breakdowns and carrying out repairs efficiently
Supporting general engineering and maintenance activities across the site
Ensuring all work is completed safely and to the required standard
Working effectively both independently and as part of the wider engineering team
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
Proven experience in a mechanical engineering or maintenance environment
Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills
A practical, hands-on approach to engineering
The ability to diagnose problems and carry out effective repairs
Good communication and problem-solving skills
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Electrical knowledge or experience would be advantageous
Shift Pattern and Benefits
There are two shift patterns available:
4 on, 3 off
Sunday to Wednesday, 7:00am – 7:00pm
23.5 days holiday entitlement
5 on, 2 off
Sunday to Thursday, 7:00am – 7:00pm
29 days holiday entitlement

Due to the location of the site and limited public transport availability, own transport is essential.
