Purchasing and Planning Administrator

Location: Oldbury
Salary: £13.45 per hour
Job Type: Full Time, Temporary to Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, full time hours

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Purchasing and Planning Administrator to join a busy and established business based in Oldbury.

The successful candidate will have previous experience within a purchasing, procurement, planning or administration environment and will be confident managing purchase requests, monitoring orders and communicating with suppliers and internal departments.

This is a varied role suited to someone who is organised, proactive and comfortable working in a fast paced environment where accuracy and communication are key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Printing and preparing works orders
• Raising and processing purchase requests
• Updating internal systems and ensuring information is accurate and up to date
• Monitoring outstanding and overdue purchase orders
• Chasing suppliers and following up on delayed orders
• Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to ensure orders are processed efficiently
• Setting up new supplier and customer accounts
• Making outbound calls and handling inbound enquiries
• Managing emails and general purchasing and planning queries
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation
• Supporting the planning and purchasing function with day to day administration
• Monitoring order progress and escalating any issues where required
• Ensuring works orders and purchasing requirements are processed within agreed timescales
• Working closely with other departments to ensure materials, orders and requirements are available when needed

About You:

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a purchasing, procurement, planning or similar administrative role and will be confident managing orders from request through to completion.

You will need to be highly organised, have excellent attention to detail and be confident communicating with suppliers and colleagues at all levels.

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience within purchasing, procurement, planning or a similar role
• Experience raising purchase orders or purchase requests
• Experience chasing suppliers and overdue orders
• Strong administration and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and telephone skills
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Experience using internal systems and Microsoft Office
• The ability to prioritise workload and work to deadlines
• A proactive approach to resolving issues and following up outstanding tasks
• The confidence to work independently as well as part of a wider team
