The Client and Project:
My client is a leading RC frame sub-contractor who are currently recruiting a Senior Engineer to complete an 1-2 year scheme.
You will be required to manage all the setting out of an RC frame and groundworks package.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Structural Engineer with strong expertise in reinforced concrete (RC) frame design to join our growing structural engineering team in Maidstone.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the design and delivery of RC frame projects from concept through to construction, working closely with clients, architects, contractors and other members of the design team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to take on greater technical responsibility, lead projects and contribute to the development of a growing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead the structural design of reinforced concrete frames, foundations and associated structural elements.
*
Undertake and review structural calculations, analysis and design in accordance with relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.
*
Develop practical and economical structural solutions from concept through to detailed design.
*
Produce and review structural drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
*
Coordinate structural designs with architects, engineers, contractors and other project stakeholders.
*
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior and graduate engineers.
*
Review designs and calculations produced by other engineers.
*
Attend design team meetings, client meetings and site visits as required.
*
Liaise with contractors and resolve technical queries during construction.
*
Assist with project planning, resource management and delivery.
*
Support fee proposals, tenders and business development activities where appropriate.
*
Maintain a high standard of technical quality, compliance and documentation.
Technical Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
*
Significant experience working as a Structural Engineer, ideally within a consultancy or design environment.
*
Strong technical experience in reinforced concrete frame design.
*
Experience with RC slabs, beams, columns, walls, cores and foundations.
*
Good understanding of structural analysis and design principles.
*
Experience working to Eurocodes and UK design standards.
*
Familiarity with structural analysis/design software such as Tekla Structural Designer, ETABS, Robot, SCIA or similar.
*
Experience producing or reviewing structural drawings, ideally using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
*
A practical understanding of construction methods and buildability.
*
Experience coordinating with contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
