Salary depends on experience and qualifications. Higher rates apply to candidates with substantial relevant experience and/or training, such as a recognised Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent). Pay reflects school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

About the Role
Help children feel included and ready to learn as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant at a primary school in Havering. Working alongside teachers, you will make classroom activities accessible and support pupils to build confidence, develop skills and participate in school life.
Your day will combine classroom support, small-group activities and planned individual work. Following teachers guidance, you will adapt tasks, reinforce learning and help children access an ambitious curriculum at a pace suited to their needs.

Your observations will help colleagues recognise progress and plan next steps, while consistent encouragement will support pupils learning and wellbeing. Requirements
Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or comparable setting.
Right to work in the UK and suitable references.
An enhanced DBS check, including a childrens barred list check, or willingness to obtain one before starting.
Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities, school policies and reporting procedures.
Clear communication with teachers and the ability to adapt support to pupils needs.
Availability to work full-time on site.
Key Responsibilities
Help teachers make lessons accessible to pupils with a range of SEN.
Provide classroom, small-group and individual support following agreed plans.
Help pupils practise key skills and participate in routines and activities.
Observe engagement and progress, sharing feedback with relevant colleagues.
Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and wellbeing through consistent, respectful support.
Follow safeguarding procedures and school policies throughout the day.
