Are you looking for a deeply rewarding role where you can make a tangible difference in a young person’s life? We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to join our inclusive education team in Derby.

In this role, you will provide vital academic and emotional support to students with visual impairments, helping them navigate their school day, access the curriculum, and reach their full potential. We have both full-time and part-time positions available for an immediate start.

Key Responsibilities

* Academic Support: Adapt learning materials into accessible formats (such as large print, tactile resources, or audio) to ensure students can fully participate in lessons.

* Classroom Collaboration: Work closely with class teachers and specialist visual impairment advisors to implement tailored Support Plans.

* Assistive Technology: Guide and support students in using specialized equipment, software, or braille resources where required.

* Mobility & Independence: Assist students with safe transit around the school campus, fostering their confidence and independence.

* Emotional Wellbeing: Provide a supportive, encouraging, and safe environment that builds the student's self-esteem and social skills.

What We Are Looking For

* Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within an educational setting or supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

* Skills: Strong communication skills, patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

* Adaptability: A willingness to learn about visual impairment strategies, assistive technologies, and inclusive teaching methods.

* Reliability: A committed professional who thrives as part of a team and can adapt quickly to a school environment.

* Compliance: An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to undergo one) is essential.

What We Offer

* Flexibility: Tailored working hours with both full-time and part-time tracks to suit your schedule.

* Professional Growth: Access to specialized training in visual impairment support, SEND education, and assistive technology.

* Supportive Culture: A welcoming, collaborative team environment dedicated to inclusive education.
