SEN Teaching Assistant
Westminster, W9 (commutable from Maida Vale, Paddington, Queen's Park, Kilburn and St John's Wood)
£110-£120 per day

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism (ASD) at a welcoming primary school in Westminster.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building a consistent relationship with one pupil and helping them become increasingly confident and independent in the classroom. There are no significant behavioural concerns; the focus is on learning, communication, engagement and ensuring the pupil can access the Year 3 curriculum successfully.
The Role
Provide targeted 1:1 ASD support within Year 3
Help the pupil access lessons alongside their classmates
Break learning into clear, manageable steps
Use visual resources and structured routines where appropriate
Support communication, attention and classroom engagement
Reinforce English and Maths learning
Encourage independence rather than over-reliance on adult support
Support transitions and changes to classroom routines
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo
Monitor progress towards individual and EHCP targetsWhat We're Looking For
Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience is strongly preferred
Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD)
Primary or KS2 experience would be advantageous
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Patient, consistent and able to build positive relationships
Understanding of visual strategies and autism-friendly approaches
Proactive and confident supporting learning within a mainstream classroomWhy Long Term Futures?
