Qualification: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience preferred
Pay Rate: £110-£130 per day
About the Role:
We are currently recruiting for a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist college supporting young people aged 16-25 with autism and complex additional needs.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide personalised support to students, helping them access education, develop their independence and build confidence. You will work closely with teaching staff and other professionals to create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Support Worker looking for a rewarding role with the potential to become permanent.
Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with additional needs
Support students with autism, communication difficulties and complex behaviours
Assist students in accessing the curriculum and completing learning activities
Support the development of students' independence, confidence and life skills
Assist with personalised learning plans and individual support strategies
Encourage positive social interaction and engagement
Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and wider support staff
Support students with practical, vocational and community-based activities where required
Maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environmentRequirements:
Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant SEN experience
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN, autism or complex needs
A patient, calm and supportive approach
Passion for helping young people achieve their potential
Ability to build positive relationships with students
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience supporting challenging behaviour or positive behaviour strategies is desirable
