Location: Thornton Heath, Croydon - commutable from Norbury, Crystal Palace, South Norwood, Croydon and surrounding areas
Pay: £110-£125 per day

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position in Thornton Heath, Croydon.
We are looking for someone who is confident supporting pupils with additional needs and can provide consistent, individualised support throughout the school day. You will work with pupils who may have needs including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, Speech & Language difficulties and other learning or communication needs.
This role would suit a proactive Teaching Assistant who enjoys building strong relationships with pupils while helping them develop academically, socially and emotionally.
About the Role
Provide 1:1 and small-group SEND support
Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication needs
Deliver targeted SEND interventions
Support communication, social interaction and independence
Use visual resources and structured routines where appropriate
Implement positive behaviour and de-escalation strategiesIdeal Candidate Profile
Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN/SEND
Confident providing dedicated 1:1 support
Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH or Speech & Language needs
Calm and consistent when supporting challenging or dysregulated behaviour
Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, SALT strategies or visual supports would be advantageous
Able to adapt quickly to different pupil needs
Patient, resilient and proactive
