Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) - Liverpool
Are you a dedicated and compassionate SEN teaching assistant looking to make a positive impact in a highly inclusive educational environment? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN TA to join a supportive SEN School in South Liverpool.
This role is suitable for someone passionate about supporting pupils with complex needs from early years to Year 6 in a specialist provision setting.
Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
About the Role:
As a SEN teaching assistant in the primary phase, you will work within a dedicated on-site specialist provision supporting pupils with a range of needs, including those with EHCPs and SEND.
You will assist in delivering tailored programmes aimed at developing communication, independence, and wellbeing, helping pupils access an ambitious curriculum in an inclusive setting. This role involves working closely with teachers and senior staff in the classroom, as well as during unstructured times such as transitions, play, and lunch.
This is a full-time Monday to Friday position working 8am - 3pm
Key Responsibilities:
* Support pupils with complex needs to access learning and develop essential life skills
* Assist in implementing individualised programmes, including communication, regulation, and behaviour management strategies
* Work in both the specialist provision and mainstream classrooms to facilitate integrated learning
* Stay vigilant during transitions and unstructured periods, ensuring pupils’ safety and wellbeing
* Promote an environment of inclusion, encouragement, and resilience
Candidate Requirements:
* Experience working with pupils with SEND, especially in a nursery or primary setting
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to follow policies diligently
* Calm, patient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team to promote positive outcomes for pupils
Additional Information:
