Lotus Recruitment are currently working with a specialist SEMH school in Islington who are looking for an experienced and passionate Maths Teacher to join their team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who enjoys working with young people who may have experienced barriers to education and who can build positive, trusting relationships while providing a calm, consistent and supportive learning environment.
The Role
The successful Maths Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging Maths lessons while adapting their approach to meet the individual needs of students with SEMH and SEN.
You will need to be confident supporting students who may display challenging behaviour, have additional needs or require a more personalised approach to learning.
The school is looking for someone who can build strong relationships with students, maintain clear boundaries and help young people develop both academically and personally.
The Ideal Candidate
* Must hold QTS
* Previous experience teaching Maths
* Experience working with students with SEMH and/or SEN
* Confident managing challenging behaviour
* A calm, patient and consistent approach
* Able to build positive relationships with young people
* Adaptable and able to differentiate lessons to meet individual needs
* Passionate about helping students overcome barriers to learning
* Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
* A genuine commitment to supporting young people to achieve their potential
