Specialist SEN School | Greenwich | Full-Time

SEN Teaching Assistant - Greenwich
£110-£120 per day | Full-time | Term-time

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to make a genuine difference in a specialist setting?

We are currently seeking a caring, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming special school in Greenwich, supporting pupils with complex learning needs and associated communication and sensory needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their specialist experience within a setting similar to the provision found across Greenwich, including schools supporting pupils with severe and complex learning needs.

The role

You will work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider support team to help pupils access learning and develop their communication, independence and social skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

Providing 1:1 and small-group support.

Supporting pupils with complex learning needs.

Encouraging communication and independence.

Implementing individual learning and behaviour strategies.

Supporting personal care where required.

Helping pupils engage with sensory, creative and practical activities.

Working collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.

Maintaining a calm, structured and nurturing environment.

We are looking for

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN.

A patient, nurturing and consistent approach.

Strong communication skills.

The ability to remain calm when situations become challenging.

A genuine interest in specialist education.

Experience with autism, complex learning needs, communication difficulties or personal care would be advantageous.

This role would particularly suit an experienced SEN TA, LSA, Support Worker or Learning Support Assistant who is ready to take their career further within specialist education.

If you are passionate about helping children achieve things they may once have thought impossible, we would love to hear from you.
