Role: iOS Engineer

Duration: 1 year

Start Date Immediate

Day Rate: £425 to £500 (Dependent on Experience)

Location: London / Bristol

Our banking client, a UK-based financial services and retail banking group, is currently looking for an experienced iOS Engineer with min 8+ years total experience to design, develop, and maintain mobile applications for the iOS ecosystem. Work closely with product teams to implement modern UI frameworks, integrate APIs, and ensure seamless, secure, and production-ready experiences across Apple devices.

In this role, your key responsibilities will be to build, test, and deploy iOS applications while collaborating with designers, backend engineers, and product owners. Ensure app responsiveness, performance, and security compliance. Debug and resolve issues across different iOS versions and devices. Contribute to code quality standards, code reviews, and reusable component libraries.

Key Skills/Knowledge:

Primary Skills:

* Strong proficiency in Swift and Objective-C

* Expertise with Xcode, UIKit, and SwiftUI

* Solid knowledge of Core Data, Core Animation, Core Location, AVFoundation

* Strong understanding of MVC, MVVM, VIPER, or Clean Architecture

* Proficiency in RESTful APIs, JSON/XML, and third-party integrations

* Experience with Push Notifications, Background Tasks, App Lifecycle Management

* Version control with Git/GitHub/GitLab

* Debugging, performance optimization, and memory management in iOS apps

Secondary Skills:

* Knowledge of Unit/UI Testing (XCTest, XCUITest)

* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Bitrise, GitHub Actions)

* Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies

The successful candidate must come with good communication skills to ensure adequate confidence to the client.
