Are you confident supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 / KS2 and Key Stage 3 / KS3?
Are you passionate about helping young people develop independence, confidence and essential life skills?
TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Caerphilly, supporting pupils across Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 3 with a range of additional learning needs and behavioural challenges. The school provides a supportive and inclusive learning environment, with a strong focus on developing independence, positive behaviour and essential life skills through practical and engaging learning opportunities.
The school is looking to appoint a dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant on a full-time, long-term temporary supply basis, with an immediate start. The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will support pupils working at Entry Level, providing classroom support, managing challenging behaviour and helping young people develop communication, social skills and independent living skills through individual and small group activities.
The successful ALN Teaching Assistant will have:
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience supporting children and young people with additional learning needs
Experience working with pupils with ALN and challenging behaviour
An understanding of positive behaviour management strategies and supporting pupils with emotional regulation
Experience supporting pupils with Entry Level learning, practical activities and independent life skills
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a specialist school team
A patient, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with diverse learning and behavioural needs
