We are working with a friendly, inclusive primary school in the Harrow and Wealdstone area, seeking a skilled and passionate Reception Teacher for an immediate start.

About the role

As Reception Teacher, you will lead the learning and development of your Reception class, planning and delivering a rich, play-based curriculum that reflects the EYFS statutory framework and Development Matters guidance.

You will create a safe, stimulating and language-rich classroom environment where children feel secure and ready to learn. Systematic synthetic phonics sits at the heart of the school's early reading programme, and you will deliver this with confidence and consistency.

You will work closely with your teaching assistant, the wider EYFS team and the SENCO to ensure all children - including those with SEND and EAL - are well supported, making strong progress from their individual starting points.

Transition arrangements, parental engagement and accurate assessment and record-keeping are all key parts of this role, and the school will expect you to approach these with care and professionalism.

What we are looking for

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential
Solid experience in a Reception or Nursery setting within a primary school
Strong knowledge of the EYFS statutory framework and Development Matters
Confidence delivering systematic synthetic phonics and early reading programmes
Skilled at planning play-based, child-led learning across the seven areas of learning
Experience with observations, formative assessment and learning journeys
A warm, nurturing approach with the ability to build positive relationships with young children and their families
Awareness of SEND and EAL needs within an early years context
