About the role and school

We are seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Newham from September. This SEN Teaching Assistant role will involve supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD and a range of additional learning needs within a dedicated SEN provision and mainstream classrooms.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to provide tailored support that enables pupils to access learning, develop confidence and make excellent progress. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will become part of a supportive staff team committed to creating an inclusive environment where every pupil can thrive.

This SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity would suit someone with previous experience supporting children with special educational needs who is looking to build a rewarding career within education. Personal care may occasionally be required depending on the needs of the pupils.

Job Responsibilities

Support pupils with Autism, ADHD and additional needs

Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions as a SEN Teaching Assistant

Assist with implementing EHCP strategies

Promote positive behaviour and pupil engagement

Work collaboratively with teachers and external professionals

Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development

Qualifications/Experience

· Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential

· Experience supporting pupils with Autism and ADHD desirable

· Enhanced DBS Certificate with the Update Service

· Right to work in the UK

· Positive, proactive and compassionate approach
