D365 F&O Functional Solution Architect
Location: Windsor (Hybrid – 1 day per week onsite)
Contract: 6 months
Day Rate: £465 per day (Inside IR35)
We are supporting a large-scale ERP transformation programme for a leading UK organisation and are looking for an experienced D365 F&O Functional Solution Architect to play a critical role in the design and delivery of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity to lead solution design across a major enterprise transformation programme, working with senior stakeholders, architects and delivery teams to implement scalable, business-focused solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead the end-to-end functional solution design for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations.
* Facilitate discovery, scoping and solution design workshops with business stakeholders.
* Translate business requirements into fit-for-purpose D365 F&O solutions, promoting standard functionality wherever possible.
* Provide functional leadership to consultants and technical teams throughout the delivery lifecycle.
* Work closely with enterprise and solution architects to ensure alignment with the overall technology strategy.
* Produce high-quality functional design documentation and solution artefacts.
* Support configuration decisions while reducing unnecessary customisation and technical debt.
* Collaborate with business users, project teams and IT stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
* Provide guidance throughout implementation, testing and post-go-live support.
* Champion best practice and continuous improvement across the programme.
Required Experience
* 8-10+ years of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations functional experience (12+ years overall experience preferred).
* Strong expertise across D365 Finance, including:
* General Ledger
* Accounts Payable
* Accounts Receivable / Sales Ledger
* Cash & Bank Management
* Fixed Assets
* Subscription Billing
* Experience with Direct Debit processes is highly desirable.
* Proven experience designing enterprise-scale D365 F&O solutions.
* Strong understanding of fit-to-standard implementation approaches.
* Experience producing functional design documentation.
* Previous experience working within Agile delivery environments.
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Strong understanding of ERP transformation programmes.
Desirable
* Experience within the Energy or Utilities sector.
* Microsoft Dynamics certifications.
* Experience working on complex enterprise transformation programmes.
