About the Role as a SEN Teaching Assistant in Hemel Hempstead

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Moderate Learning Difficulties, working closely with teachers to deliver engaging, inclusive learning experiences. You'll provide tailored support through classroom assistance, one-to-one sessions, and small group interventions, ensuring every student has the opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant in Hemel Hempstead

Provide high-quality classroom, one-to-one, and small group support for students with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and encourage student participation
Support literacy, numeracy, and a range of curriculum-based learning activities
Work collaboratively with teachers and the SENCO to deliver personalised learning strategies
Foster a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued
Build strong, trusting relationships that promote confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing
Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to teaching staffRequirements

Previous experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs, particularly MLD, is desirable
Experience working with secondary-aged students is advantageous
Patient, caring, resilient, and adaptable with a positive attitude
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A proactive approach with the ability to respond to a variety of learning and behavioural needs
