About this contract

Supply Chain & Procurement Governance Manager Outside IR35: £450 - £500 p/d Hybrid: Once every 2 weeks into Reading 4 months intially, 6 month rolling extensions SC Clearance Mandatory

We're supporting a leading defence organisation that is looking for an experienced Supply Chain & Procurement Governance Manager to help design and implement a new governance framework across its procurement and supply chain function.

This is a genuinely greenfield opportunity where you'll define the governance model, processes and controls that will underpin a security-sensitive supply chain, working closely with senior commercial and programme stakeholders.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

Designing and implementing procurement and supply chain governance frameworks from the ground up.
Defining end-to-end procurement and supplier management processes.
Developing governance, controls and assurance mechanisms for a regulated defence environment.
Producing key governance documentation including policies, process maps, RACI matrices and decision frameworks.
Identifying governance, compliance and control gaps and recommending improvements.
Engaging senior stakeholders to drive adoption of new ways of working.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in candidates who have:

Strong experience in procurement governance, supply chain governance or commercial governance.
A track record of designing governance frameworks and operating models rather than maintaining existing ones.
Excellent process mapping and process improvement skills.
Experience working within defence, government or another highly regulated environment.
Confidence influencing senior stakeholders across commercial, procurement and delivery teams.
The ability to work independently in an evolving, greenfield environment.
CIPS or similar procurement qualifications are beneficial but not essential
