About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team from September to support a pupil in our mixed Year 3/4 class.

This role involves working closely with a child who has an EHCP and is currently awaiting a diagnosis of Autism (ASD) and ADHD. The pupil presents with significant social communication, sensory, and mental health needs, and requires consistent, nurturing and structured support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 tailored support to meet the pupil's individual needs
Support the pupil's emotional regulation, social communication, and engagement in learning
Assist in implementing strategies outlined in the EHCP
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCo to adapt learning activities within the KS2 curriculum
Create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment
Support with transitions and sensory needs throughout the day
Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to staff and parents where appropriate

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Has proven experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD and/or ADHD
Demonstrates strong understanding of social communication and sensory needs
Has knowledge or experience of the Key Stage 2 curriculum
Is patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a calm and positive approach
Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff
Is proactive and able to use initiative alongside following guidance
