Senior Service Designer
Inside IR35: £450 - £485 p/d
Hybrid: 1-2 a week into London
17th August Start: Long term programme
We are looking for a senior Service Designer to help shape and validate AI-enabled concepts through intensive six-week design and testing cycles.
This is a hands-on role for someone comfortable working across user research, service and interaction design, facilitation and rapid testing. You will work within multidisciplinary teams to explore opportunities, develop lightweight concepts, test assumptions and reduce uncertainty before further investment.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and conduct rapid research through interviews, workshops and focus groups.
Understand the user, operational and organisational context for AI-enabled services.
Map journeys, workflows and service interactions to identify pain points and opportunities.
Translate insights into user needs, opportunity areas and user stories.
Create lightweight wireframes, interaction flows and low-fidelity prototypes using Figma and AI-assisted tools.
Facilitate co-design, usability testing and concept validation sessions.
Synthesise findings into clear recommendations for product and design teams.
Collaborate with product, engineering and AI specialists to iterate concepts quickly.
Required Experience
Strong generalist experience across research, service design and interaction design.
Able to balance research rigour with the pace of rapid concept development.
Confident facilitating workshops and collaborative design sessions.
Strong visual and written communication skills.
Practical experience using Figma to develop and test early-stage concepts.
Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-paced and iterative environments.
An interest in using AI tools within the design process.
Previous government or wider public-sector experience
