SEND Teacher - Specialist School

We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated and highly motivated SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Bristol supporting children and young people with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) across both primary and secondary age ranges.

This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of pupils with complex learning, physical, sensory and medical needs. The successful candidate will be passionate about inclusive education and committed to helping every learner achieve their full potential.

The Role

You will be responsible for planning and delivering highly personalised learning programmes that meet the individual needs of pupils with PMLD. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will create engaging, sensory-rich learning experiences that support communication, independence, wellbeing and life skills.

You will collaborate closely with teaching assistants, therapists, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the highest quality educational experience and support.

Key Responsibilities
Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
Create a safe, nurturing and stimulating classroom environment.
Support pupils' communication, sensory, physical and personal development.
Develop and implement personalised learning targets and outcomes.
Work collaboratively with support staff, therapists and families.
Monitor, assess and celebrate pupil progress using appropriate assessment frameworks.
Contribute to EHCP reviews and annual review processes.
Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
Uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
About You

We are looking for a teacher who:

Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Has experience working with children or young people with SEND.
Has knowledge of PMLD, complex needs and personalised learning approaches.
Understands the importance of communication, sensory engagement and holistic development.
Is creative, patient and adaptable.
Can build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Is committed to inclusive education and achieving the best outcomes for every learner.

- Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), Monday-Friday 8:30-15:30

- Right to work in the UK - we CANNOT accept sponsorship or a skilled worker visa

- Minimum two recent references, covering the last two years

- Up-to-date DBS/police check, or be willing to obtain one*

*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.
