SEN Tutor

Support Learners Through Personalised 1:1 Education

We're looking for an experienced SEN Tutor to support children and young people across the BCP area through tailored 1:1 tuition.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll provide personalised educational support to learners who require alternative provision due to SEND, EHCPs, anxiety, school avoidance, or other barriers to learning. Many of the students we work with benefit from a flexible, patient, and individualised approach that helps them build confidence and make meaningful progress.

This role is ideal for tutors who are passionate about making a difference through relationship-led learning and adapting their support to each learner's needs.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour
Type: 1:1 Tuition

Requirements

Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
Experience supporting children and young people with SEND
Understanding of EHCPs and personalised learning approaches
Ability to adapt sessions to suit individual learning needs
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Patient, resilient, and flexible approach
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area

Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
ADHD
Anxiety and emotionally based school avoidance
Communication and interaction needs
EHCPs and additional educational needsEvery learner is different, creating opportunities to deliver truly personalised support that helps students engage with education and achieve positive outcomes.
