Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Westminster, supporting children within a Reception class from September.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys the Early Years environment and understands how to balance structured learning with purposeful play. You'll work closely with the Reception teacher to help children develop their phonics, early literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills during this important first year of school.
About the Role

Support teaching and learning throughout the Reception classroom
Lead small-group phonics, reading and early maths activities
Support children during adult-led activities and continuous provision
Encourage communication, language and vocabulary development
Use questioning and play to extend children's learning
Help children develop independence, confidence and positive classroom routines
Provide additional support to children who need help reaching expected developmental levels
Observe children's learning and share progress with the Reception teacher
Help maintain an engaging and stimulating EYFS environment Ideal Candidate

Previous EYFS or Reception classroom experience is strongly preferred
Good understanding of the EYFS Framework
Experience supporting phonics and early reading
Understanding of early childhood development
Confident leading activities with individuals and small groups
Warm, enthusiastic and able to build positive relationships with young children
Proactive and comfortable taking initiative within a busy Reception classroom
