Mechanical Plant Fitter (Batching Plant & Jetty)

Pay Rate: £24.14 per hour
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Heavy Plant / Mechanical Plant Fitter to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of heavy plant machinery (Such as Batching Plant & Jetty). The ideal candidate will have strong diagnostic ability, hands‑on technical experience, and confidence working independently or within a maintenance team. This role ensures plant equipment remains safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency.
Responsibilities
Routine servicing of heavy plant machinery.
Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Preventive maintenance and completion of inspection documentation.
Breakdown response with efficient fault‑finding and repair.
Welding and basic fabrication when required.
Maintain full HSE compliance and accurate records.
Coordinate with delivery teams and plant operations.Mandatory Qualifications:
CSCS or JIB
NVQ Level 3 Mechanical Fitter
Abrasive Wheels
Working at Heights
Manual Handling
LOTO - Electrical Safety Briefing or Isolation Procedures or Mechanical Briefing
Pre‑Qualification Technical Profile (PQTP)Experience:
Ideally 5 years heavy plant maintenance (excluding apprenticeship).
Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
Ability to work under pressure on critical plant.
Fabrication, system amendments, and mechanical improvements.
Experience on similar large‑scale projects.Lodge available for suitable candidates.
