Your new company
A leading professional regulatory organisation is seeking a Witness Statement Officer to join its Legal Team in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for a paralegal, investigator, caseworker or regulatory professional with experience of taking witness statements and gathering evidence to join a supportive and purpose-driven organisation. You'll play a key role in helping progress complex fitness to practise investigations, ensuring witness evidence is obtained and documented to the highest standard.
This role is initially offered on a 3-month contract.

Your new role
As a Witness Statement Officer, you will be responsible for:

Analysing case files and key documentation to identify evidential requirements
Preparing witness interview plans
Conducting witness interviews
Drafting high-quality witness statements in accordance with legal and procedural requirements
Supporting lawyers and investigators on witness-related matters
Explaining legal processes clearly and sensitively to witnesses and complainants
Working within a statutory and regulatory framework
Providing an excellent level of customer service and witness care throughout the investigation process
What you'll need to succeed

Previous experience drafting witness statements and gathering evidence
Strong analytical skills and the ability to review complex information
Excellent written communication and attention to detail
Experience interviewing witnesses or conducting investigative conversations
The ability to communicate professionally and compassionately with a wide range of individuals, including vulnerable parties
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work to deadlines and performance targets
