Teaching Assistant - KS2 Long-Term Role

Premier Education is working with a welcoming primary school in the New Mills area seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to work 5 days per week on a long-term basis.

The successful candidate will be supporting two children within Key Stage 2, helping them access learning, remain engaged in the classroom, and make positive progress.

This role requires someone who can build strong and consistent relationships with pupils and work effectively alongside the class teacher and wider school team.

Please note: Recent experience working within a UK school is essential for this position.

The Role:

Supporting two KS2 pupils with their learning and development
Providing individual and small-group support where required
Helping pupils remain focused, engaged, and confident in the classroom
Supporting learning activities set by the class teacher
Encouraging positive behaviour and independence
Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff
Providing consistent support throughout this long-term placement

Candidate Requirements:

Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential
Experience supporting KS2 pupils is highly desirable
Previous Teaching Assistant or SEND experience would be advantageous
A patient, positive, and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Reliable and able to commit to 5 days per week
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
