A supportive specialist provision in Wandsworth is seeking a resilient and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant with experience of social, emotional and mental health needs. This is a meaningful long-term role for someone who understands that behaviour is communication and can help pupils re-engage with learning.

Working alongside teachers and pastoral professionals, you will provide consistent support to individuals and small groups. The setting uses clear routines and relationship-based practice to help pupils regulate emotions, develop trust and experience success.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant – SEMH, you will:

Provide tailored academic and emotional support

Use agreed de-escalation and positive-behaviour strategies

Help pupils recognise emotions and develop regulation skills

Support personalised learning plans and reintegration into lessons

Record progress and communicate observations to the wider team

Maintain professional boundaries and follow safeguarding procedures

We are looking for:

Recent experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs

A calm, consistent and non-judgemental approach

Strong behaviour-management and communication skills

Team Teach or equivalent training, desirable but not essential

The right to work in the UK
