Press Brake Technician
The Press Brake Technician is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal components in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and production requirements. The role requires a high level of precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing quality products while meeting production targets.
The Press Brake Operator is expected to always work safely, complying with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards, while carrying out routine inspections, machine adjustments, and basic maintenance. The role also supports continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring equipment, processes, and working practices are maintained to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate press brake machines to manufacture metal components in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.
Read and interpret engineering drawings, work instructions, and standard operating procedures to ensure accurate manufacture.
Select and install the correct tooling, dies, and machine parameters for each production run.
Measure, inspect, and verify completed components using appropriate measuring equipment to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
Make machine adjustments as required to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality.
Carry out routine machine checks and basic preventative maintenance, reporting faults or defects promptly.
Adhere to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, maintaining a safe, clean, and organised work area in line with 5S standards.
Achieve production targets while maintaining high levels of quality, efficiency, and minimal waste.
Work collaboratively with Team Leaders, Programmers, Quality, and Engineering teams to resolve production issues and support continuous improvement activities.
Contribute to Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve safety, quality, productivity, and process efficiency. Qualifications

Previous experience operating press brake machines or similar metal fabrication equipment.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Competent in the use of precision measuring equipment, including vernier callipers, micrometers, steel rules, and tape measures.
Good mathematical skills with the ability to perform basic calculations and interpret dimensions and tolerances.
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve basic production issues.
High attention to detail with a commitment to producing quality components to specification.
Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment, including manual handling of materials and standing for extended periods.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.Preferred Skills

Experience operating CNC press brake machines and making programme or machine adjustments.
Knowledge of different metals, material grades, thicknesses, and forming techniques.
Experience using overhead cranes and forklift trucks (relevant licences/certification desirable).
Understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, including 5S and Continuous Improvement (CI).
Familiarity with quality standards, inspection techniques, and non-conformance reporting.
Ability to carry out basic machine maintenance and support preventative maintenance activities
