Maintenance Operative
Location: Leicester
Salary: £28,000 – £30,000 per annum, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:30pm
Break: 1-hour lunch break, including 30 minutes paid
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
About the RoleWe are currently looking for a reliable and hands-on Maintenance Operative to join our team in Leicester.
We’re looking for someone with previous maintenance experience who is confident carrying out general repairs, upkeep, and maintenance tasks across a range of areas.
A background in a particular trade is not essential — we are open to candidates with experience in plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, decorating, building maintenance, or other relevant trades. Multi-skilled experience would be a strong advantage.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a long-term position with the potential to become permanent, with training and development provided.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out general maintenance and repairs
Respond to day-to-day maintenance requirements
Identify and report any defects or issues
Complete basic repairs across various trades
Assist with plumbing, carpentry, decorating and other maintenance tasks
Ensure work is completed safely and to a high standard
Follow relevant health & safety and compliance procedures
Keep maintenance areas clean, safe and organised
Work as part of a team while also being able to work independently
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has previous maintenance experience
Is practical, hands-on and able to use common tools
Has experience in one or more trades
Is reliable, punctual and hardworking
Takes pride in completing work to a good standard
Has a good understanding of health & safety
Can work independently and as part of a team
Is willing to learn and develop their skills
Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, decorating or other trade experience is a bonus but not essential.
