Location: Cheltenham
Rate: £55 per hour (Umbrella)
Contract Duration: 3 Months

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Test Rig Build & Commissioning Technician to support a critical project in Cheltenham. Due to project schedule demands and limited availability of internal resources, an immediate requirement has arisen for a skilled individual with strong electro-mechanical build, wiring, plumbing, and commissioning experience.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on the development and commissioning of advanced electrical power distribution and liquid cooling test systems.

Key Responsibilities

Mechanical assembly and build of test rigs to engineering drawings and specifications.
Wiring and commissioning of Electrical Power Distribution Unit (EPDU) test racks.
Mechanical build, plumbing, and commissioning of liquid cooling test rigs.
Installation and integration of instrumentation and test equipment.
Conduct troubleshooting and system bring-up activities.
Follow commissioning procedures and testing protocols.
Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and safety.
Adhere to site safety procedures and safe working practices.
Provide daily progress updates to project leadership and stakeholders.Essential Requirements

HND/HNC qualification or equivalent technical experience.
Previous experience building and commissioning test system rigs.
Strong electro-mechanical assembly experience.
Proven experience with:
Rack builds
Instrumentation installation
Electrical wiring
Mechanical assembly
Plumbing systems
Fault finding and troubleshooting
System commissioning and bring-up
Ability to work from engineering drawings and build plans.
Strong focus on quality, safety, and delivery.Desirable Experience

Experience working with liquid cooling systems.
City & Guilds 2382-22 (18th Edition Electrical Regulations).
Background supporting Aerospace, Defence, Industrial, or Advanced Engineering test environments.
