Role information:

We are seeking an experienced Cost Controller to join a major programme within a highly regulated environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident professional with a strong background in cost engineering or project finance to support the successful delivery of complex projects.
The successful candidate will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to provide accurate cost reporting, forecasting, variance analysis and financial performance insights, helping to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to schedule.

Responsibilities:

* Support the preparation, monitoring and control of project budgets and forecasts.
* Ensure compliance with established cost management procedures, processes and systems.
* Monitor actual expenditure, including accruals where required, and support performance measurement activities.
* Produce cost reports, highlighting trends, risks and early warnings.
* Carry out SPI and CPI variance analysis, including root cause analysis and supporting recovery plans.
* Assist in the development and maintenance of Project Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
* Analyse historical cost data to support benchmarking and future cost studies.
* Monitor project performance trends and provide recommendations to Project Managers.
* Review resource utilisation, productivity and time bookings against project plans.
* Maintain high standards of safety, quality, security and environmental compliance while contributing positively to the wider project team.
* Support additional cost engineering activities as required.

Qualifications/Experience

Strong Cost Engineer or Finance experience / background
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment
* Demonstrable experience of analysis and forecasting
* Stakeholder Management / Engagement experience
* MS Office and MS Excel competent
