Senior Design Engineer - Marine

Are you Senior Design Engineer passionate about delivering high-quality Structural or Outfitdesign solutions within shipbuilding? Belcan is seeking Outfit or Structural Designers at Junior through to Senior level to join our Naval team, supporting complex marine engineering projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Design Engineer to develop and apply your expertise in structural or outfit design and detailing within a collaborative and technically challenging shipbuilding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural Design & Documentation
Produce detailed structural engineering drawings, 2D/3D models, and technical documentation using industry-standard CAD tools.
Develop clear and accurate design outputs to support fabrication and installation.
Generate supporting documentation such as calculations, tolerance analysis, and material selection relevant to structural systems.Project Delivery
Deliver design work in line with project schedules, budgets, and customer requirements.
Identify and communicate design risks, changes, and efficiency improvements.Collaboration & Development
Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve technical challenges.
Contribute to a collaborative engineering environment across Belcan's global network.
For junior candidates: receive mentoring and development support.
For senior candidates: provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.Required Skills & Experience
Experience in structural design within a marine / ship building environment:
Junior: some relevant experience or strong academic/project background
Mid-level: proven industry experience
Senior: significant experience with ability to lead or mentor
Proficiency in CAD software for structural design and detailing (preferably Foran).
Understanding of marine structural standards and best practices is highly desirable.
