Mental Health Teaching Assistant - Corby

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a supportive and inclusive school in the Corby area who are seeking a dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join their team. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional emotional and behavioural support, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential both academically and personally.

The Role:

Supporting students with SEMH needs on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.

Building positive relationships to encourage engagement and confidence.

Assisting teachers in creating a safe and supportive learning environment.

Supporting students with emotional regulation and behaviour management strategies.

Working collaboratively with pastoral teams, SENCOs and external agencies where required.

Promoting student wellbeing and positive mental health throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally within education, care, youth work or support settings.

A calm, patient and resilient approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

An understanding of SEMH needs and the challenges some young people face.

A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable students.

A willingness to learn and develop professionally.
