About this contract

A civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Site Agent for a major highways project in Oxfordshire. This is a key site-based role, leading delivery of infrastructure works to programme, budget, and safety standards.
As Site Agent you will hold and Engineering background and have a strong track record of delivering projects ideally with a focus on bridges and structures.
Key Responsibilities
·Lead site operations and manage engineers and subcontractors
·Support project planning, resource allocation, and programme delivery
·Ensure compliance with NEC contracts and project specifications
·Maintain site records, reports, and documentation
·Drive health & safety, quality, and environmental standards
·Liaise with project, commercial, and planning teams
Requirements
·Proven experience as Site Agent / Section Manager in civil engineering
·Strong knowledge of highways projects and NEC contracts
·HNC (or higher) in Civil Engineering
·SMSTS and First Aid certified
·Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
Desirable
·Highways Structures project experience
·Temporary Works Coordinator / Appointed Person
·AutoCAD knowledge
