Project Management Assistant – Procurement/Finance/Engineering
6 Month Contract
Based in Woking, Surrey
Role Overview:
* Our Client is seeking a Project Assistant on a six-month contract to support the Product Development function in managing and reducing its open purchase order position.
* It is a highly organised, high-volume administrative and coordination role with a great deal of direct contact across Engineering and Procurement, and it suits someone who is comfortable chasing, following up and holding people to commitments in a professional and constructive way.
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in a project support, project assistant, procurement administration or finance administration role, ideally in an engineering, automotive or other complex manufacturing environment.
* Working knowledge of the purchase order lifecycle, including requisitions, purchase order approval, goods receipting and commitment accounting.
* Practical experience of an ERP system, with SAP ECC or S/4HANA a distinct advantage.
* Strong Excel skills, including lookups and the ability to reconcile large data extracts accurately from one day to the next.
* Familiarity with Power BI reporting, or the confidence to become proficient quickly.
* Excellent written communication and the persistence to chase busy engineers and buyers politely, clearly and repeatedly until a line is closed out.
* Meticulous attention to detail, strong personal organisation, and the discipline to work a large list methodically every day.
